Gazipasa Alanya Airport welcomes its first international passengers

Gazipasa Alanya Airport of which the operation was taken over by TAV Airports Holding in 2009 for a period of 25 years, welcomes its first international flight from the Netherland's capital Amsterdam. There was great enthusiasm at the airport when the first flight by Transavia Airlines landed.

A Boeing 737 700 type aircraft of Transavia Airlines carrying 59 passengers arrived at Antalya Gazipasa Airport at 20.30 local time on April 27th, 2011. A reception was held to acknowledge the first international flight to Gazipasa Alanya Airport from Amsterdam. Almost 500 foreign locals have waited for hours at the airport to witness the first international flight landing.

Transavia Airlines’ Boeing 737 700 type aircraft was greeted at Gazipasa Airport with the traditional “water salute”. Welcoming the passengers with clarion and folk dance displays, TAV officials presented flowers to the flight crew and the first international passengers from Amsterdam.

The reception was attended by Gazipasa District Governor Muhittin Pamuk, Mayor of Gazipasa Cem Burak Ozgenc, Mayor of Alanya Hasan Sipahioglu, TAV Airports Operations Director Murat Ornekol, Business Development Director Serkan Kaptan, TAV Gazipasa Operations Coordinator Cengiz Asıklı, as well as non-government organization representatives, members of tourism sector and locals

Gazipasa Airport of which the operating rights belong to TAV Gazipasa till 2034 has a 500 thousand passenger capacity a year, a terminal building with 2 thousand 144 m2 grounds and a 150 vehicle capacity car park.

TAV Airports Holding had won the operating rights of Gazipasa Alanya Airport which has now an important position with the acceleration in the aviation sector, is expected to have a crucial role in the development of Turkish tourism.
