Gazipasa Airport welcomes its first A320

Antalya Gazipasa Airport welcomed the first passengers of Lithuanian Small Planet Airlines coming from Vilnius. Together with reciprocal Gazipasa-Vilnius flights, Gazipasa Airport is now connected to another destination.

Operated by TAV Airports, Antalya Gazipasa Airport welcomed 182 passengers of Small Planet, a Lithuanian airline company operating charter flights and arriving from Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, on May 17th. Airbus A320 type aircraft of Small Planet Airlines was welcomed by water cannon salute at the apron. TAV Gazipasa General Manager Cengiz Asikli, Adriatic Air Service officials and TAV Gazipasa Airport employees attended the welcome ceremony.

TAV Gazipasa General Manager Cengiz Asikli said “We, as TAV Gazipasa, are now hosting another destination from Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania, to Gazipasa Airport, of which the flights are operated by Small Planet Airlines, an airline company operating charter flights. Furthermore, the first Airbus A320 type aircraft landed to our airport after B737-800 type aircrafts. This is a new milestone for us. It is also pleasing to add a new destination of North Europe to the list of destinations connected to Gazipasa Airport. The reciprocal flights will lead Lithuanian tourists to visit the region which will also contribute to Alanya’s tourism sector. We are pleased to have our share in this contribution.”

The aircraft of Lithuanian airline company Small Planet, which will operate charter flights to Gazipasa Airport, landed to Antalya Gazipasa Airport at 01:47 together with its 182 passengers. The A320 type aircraft of Small Planet Airlines took off at 02:50 to Vilnius together with its 176 departing passengers. Gazipasa flights of Small Planet Airlines will take place every Friday until 25th of October.

Small Planet Airlines is the sixth airline company launching flights to the area after Pegasus, SAS, Corendon Airlines, Transavia and Tailwind Airlines.
