Gazipaşa is now connected to Helsinki with direct flights

Operated by TAV Airports, Antalya Gazipaşa Airport welcomed the passengers of the first direct flight of Finnair from Helsinki, the capital city of Finland.

Antalya Gazipaşa Airport, which is operated by TAV Airports, added another route to its destination network by launching direct flights of Finnair, national airlines of Finland, from Helsinki to Gazipaşa. In this first flight of Finnair from the capital city Helsinki, 135 passengers of A319 type aircraft was welcomed by an aviation tradition of water arches and the passengers were presented flowers by Gazipaşa officials.

TAV Gazipaşa Operations Coordinator Cengiz Aşıklı, stated: “We continue to see the positive results of the works we have consistently performed to bring Gazipaşa Airport to the position it deserves since its location is has great importance for Alanya and the surrounding region. Finland was the only Scandinavian country that we were not operating. Now, we have direct flights from our airport to all Scandinavian countries. We are more than happy to improve the services we offer to our passengers by connecting Gazipaşa Airport to new centers. We will continue to work to contribute to the tourism potential of our region.

Finnair, the national airlines of Finland, launched its first direct flight from Helsinki to Gazipaşa Airport at 10:45. With its 37 return passengers on board, Finnair took off at 11:35 from GZP. Reciprocal flights will be performed on Saturdays once a week until the end of May, then twice a week on Thursdays and Saturdays until the mid-June and finally three times a week on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays until the end of the season by A319 and A320 type aircrafts.

Gazipaşa Airport is expected to perform 19 direct flights to 16 international destinations in 2014. Furthermore, direct reciprocal flights are launched from Ankara Esenboğa and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen airports. Improving its destination network day by day, Gazipaşa Airport included Gazipaşa-Istanbul Atatürk Airport destination of Onur Air to its network yesterday.
