Ömer Sözener appointed TAV Gazipaşa Operations Coordinator
Ömer Sözener has been appointed TAV Gazipasa Operations Coordinator. He has taken over the responsibilities resulting from the resignation of Yiğit Laçin from his post as general manager on 15 August 2022. Sözener began his career in the aviation industry in 1993 and has worked as airport manager at Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport since 2014.
About Ömer Sözener
Ömer Sözener was born on 17 August 1973 and graduated from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management at Selçuk University in 1993 and the Faculty of Business Administration at Anadolu University in 2008. In his 29-year aviation career, which he started as a flight attendant, he held positions such as Operations Coordinator, Terminal Operations Manager, Operations Chief in local and international companies. Starting his career at TAV as Terminal Operations Manager in 2000, Sözener served as operations manager at TAV's Enfidha and Monastir airports in Tunisia. Since 2014, Sözener has been working as Airport Manager at Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport.

Gazipaşa-Alanya, the second airport of Antalya, which is one of the most popular destinations in the Mediterranean, provides direct access to the eastern part of the region. TAV Airports won the tender for the operating rights of Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport in August 2007. With the investments made by the company, the terminal building was enlarged three times, the apron parking capacity was doubled, and the runway was extended to make the airport suitable for the use of wide-body aircraft. TAV has the right to operate the airport until May 2036.
