Thomas Cook launches flights from Gazipasa to Stockholm

 

Thomas Cook Scandinavia Airlines launches direct flights from Antalya Gazipasa Airport to Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden. Landing at Gazipasa Airport with 177 passengers at 13:00, Thomas Cook’s Airbus A 320 type aircraft then took off with its 179 passengers at 14:15 to Stockholm.

Operated by TAV Airports, Antalya Gazipasa Airport has welcomed 177 passengers coming with the first of reciprocal flights of Thomas Cook Scandinavia Airlines from Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden. A welcome ceremony was held by water arches on the apron, which is an aviation tradition, at Gazipasa Airport for the first flight performed with Airbus A 320 type aircraft. The aircraft landed to Gazipasa at 13:00 and took off at 14:15 for its return flight to Stockholm with 179 passengers on board.

TAV Gazipasa Operations Coordinator Cengiz Asikli stated as follows: “We see the positive results of the works we have performed to bring Gazipasa Airport to the position it deserves since its location is important for Alanya and the surrounding region. We are very pleased by the direct reciprocal flights from Gazipasa Airport launched by Thomas Cook Scandinavia once a week. Together with our collaboration, we expect Thomas Cook to launch direct flights from other countries to our airport. We will continue to contribute to Gazipasa as well as to tourism sector of Alanya and our region.”

Thomas Cook Scandinavia, Jet Time, Pegasus, SAS, Small Planet, Corendon Airlines, Transavia and Tailwind Airlines have permission to launch flights to Gazipasa Airport. B737-300, B737-400, B737-700, B737-800 and A320 and also A319 types of aircrafts have landed to and took off from Gazipasa Airport during summer season 2013.

There are direct flights to 12 destinations in 8 countries from Gazipasa Airport, which are Copenhagen, Billund and Aalborg in Denmark, Amsterdam and Eindhoven in the Netherlands, Oslo in Norway, Stockholm and Goteborg in Sweden, Brussels in Belgium, Warsaw in Poland, Pardubice in Czech Republic and Vilnius in Lithuania. And with the daily Istanbul connected flights of Pegasus, passengers are able to reach 17 domestic and 32 international destinations.
